On January 14, Andrzej Duda took part in the ceremonial celebration of Wincenty Witos’ birthday. The President laid a wreath at the grave of the three-time Prime Minister of Poland in Wierzchosławice and delivered a speech in the Sports Hall of the Secondary and Technical School Complex in Wojnicz. Duda spoke about Witos’ achievements in the history of the Polish countryside, recalled regaining independence and took the opportunity to criticize the coalition government of Donald Tusk and the current composition of the Polish People’s Party. “Where is PSL today? It is part of the ruling coalition that is putting its MPs in prison,” the president referred to the convicted MPs Kamiński and Wąsik.
Michał Żebrowski parodied Andrzej Duda
The speech was parodied on Instagram by a famous actor and director of the 6th Floor Theater – . The artist has been openly opposed to the power of Law and Justice for years, and before the last elections, in a conversation with Magda Mołek, he emphasized how important it is to vote. “We have to save Poland,” he said.
In the latest recording, the actor parodied Andrzej Duda’s speeches, accurately pointing out subsequent elements that the president repeats while delivering them. “Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to share with you a certain reflection, a certain suggestion. I am doing this on the occasion of the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the birth of Wincenty Witos. I would like to say that if I put a dot after each phrase, after each sentence, I would present my right profile once, my left profile if I speak higher, if I speak more quietly and always make pauses,” Żebrowski mocks, imitating the way the head of state is praised.
“A plumber sentenced by a final judgment, from now on he is called a plumber’s prison”
The actor then referred to Duda’s words regarding convicted MPs – Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik, whom the president constantly defends. “I wanted to say that today, today I come to the conclusion that if a plumber was convicted by a final judgment, the plumber was sentenced by a final judgment, from today he is called a plumber’s prison, just like any politician who was convicted by a final judgment is a political prisoner. This is that’s it,” Żebrowski concluded his speech.
The actor’s recording was quickly disseminated outside of Instagram. One of the videos that can be found on the X website has almost 400,000 views. “Laughter and mockery are the lowest punishment that will sooner or later reach Mr. Duda”, “Amateur. The pauses are definitely too short, the face is not threatening enough and, above all, too quiet” – viewers comment on the video.
