The Araba Bertsolaris Championship 2024 will be held between January 28 and March 16

Arabako Bertsozale Elkartea presented the 2024 Araba Bertsolaris Championship today at the Txoko Garrastatxu in Baranbio.
When 40 years have passed since the first bertsolaris championship was held in Araba, the most important championship in the territory will begin on January 28, with the quarterfinals hosted by the Izarra Culture House, and will end with the final, on the 16th. March, at the Principal Theater of Vitoria. Along the way, two more quarterfinals will be played in Oio and Llodio, and two semifinals in Aramaio and Dulantzi.
This will be the format of the championship: 18 bertsolaris from Araba will participate, the five finalists of the 2022 championship who have registered this year, plus the 13 best bertsolaris from the qualifiers held in autumn 2023. The 18 will perform in the quarterfinals, 12 will advance to the semifinals, and only six will remain for the final . Each bertsolari will have to sing only once in each phase.
The champion of the last edition, Peru Abarrategi, will be in the shortlist of participants, as will Manex Agirre, who was second.
Tickets for the qualifying rounds can be purchased at bertsosarrerak.eus, although those for the final can only be purchased through the Teatro Principal’s sales channels.
Besides, ETB4 and eitb.eus will broadcast the final live.
