The film company reserves the rights to “Love Actually”. Does this only mean one thing?
According to the British portal, on December 29, 2023, Universal Pictures, responsible for producing “Love Actually”, submitted an application to reserve the rights to the name of the comedy. The trademark is intended to cover all entertainment services, including, but not limited to: film productions, series and podcasts, as well as other content such as music or video games. It became clear to viewers that work on the long-announced sequel had started, especially since a few months earlier there were reports that the director had actually started intensive preparations for it.

According to the website’s reports, he started working on creating a script for the sequel in September 2023. However, this fact remained a secret for a long time and little is known about the stage of preparations. Apparently they are to return to their roles, among others: Alan Rickman and Liam Neeson, but the interested parties themselves, have not yet confirmed these revelations.
What is important, however, is that the new part of the film will not be a direct reference to the original, because, as the director claims, some of its elements are not relevant in today’s world. – My film may seem outdated at some moments – he admitted in one of the interviews. – I mean, there are certain things in the film, the lack of diversity makes me feel uncomfortable and a bit stupid – he explained. At the same time, he emphasized that the original contained several timeless truths, which undoubtedly make the heroes’ stories still electrify the audience and attract interest.
