Artur Orzech began his career on screen in 1994, when he became the host of the “Muzyczna Jedynka” program broadcast on Channel 1. Later, he hosted many different hit formats of the station, including: “Muzyczny Serwis Jedynki”, “Studio Orzech”, “The World Is Spinning” and “Hit, Hit, Hurra”. However, he gained the greatest popularity by covering the Eurovision Song Contest for viewers. Later, he also became a co-host, and after Wojciech Mann left “Szansa na Nasze”, he took his place.
After nearly 30 years of cooperation, Artur Orzech left TVP. What was the reason?
Artur Orzech’s cooperation with Telewizja Polska ended unexpectedly in March 2021 after he failed to show up for the recording of a charity episode. He then explained that he had informed the production well in advance about his absence, which was a protest against the dominant musical line in the program. However, his superiors were adamant. It was considered that he showed a lack of professionalism, and his attitude exposed not only the show, but also the entire station to huge financial losses and had a negative impact on its image, which resulted in his immediate dismissal.
Artur Orzech started cooperation with Telewizja Polska. He got two offers
When it became clear that power in Poland would be taken by the opposition, which announced imminent changes in the structures of the public broadcaster, many began to wonder whether Artur Orzech was considering returning to TVP. In an interview with the portal, he admitted that he is open to all suggestions and if the opportunity arises, he will gladly take advantage of it. – If such a proposal is made, and Polish Television will be the Polish Television that most of us dream of, then of course it will. My heart is connected with this event and I will gladly return to TVP, even if only for Eurovision commentary, he declared then.
Everything seems to indicate that this moment has now come. As the presenter revealed in an interview for Pressserwis, the new management of the station invited him for a conversation during which his return to the air was considered. – I heard two questions from the TVP management. First, will I comment this year? I said yes. It was hard to refuse, since I devoted half of my professional life to Eurovision – the backstage of the meeting. However, this is not the end of the surprises, because it turns out that the second issue concerned his future in “Szansa na dziennik”. – I also tentatively agreed – he added briefly.
