Where does the President of Poland live? This question is gaining popularity due to recent political events. However, the answer is not that simple. This is how Andrzej Duda lives now. What do the interiors of the Presidential Palace look like?

Where the Polish president stands after winning the elections depends on his preferences. Until 1993, the seat of the head of state was the Belvedere Palace in Warsaw. However, Lech Wałęsa decided to move to the Presidential Palace on Krakowskie Przedmieście for the duration of his presidency. He moved there in 1994, after the general renovation was completed, and since then it has been the official residence of the President of the Republic of Poland. Bronisław Komorowski decided to break away from this tradition and live in Belweder. What decision did he make?

Andrzej Duda lived in Krakow until winning the presidential election in 2015. This is where he grew up, learned and studied. Together with his wife and daughter, he lived in a rather small apartment in Prądnik Biały in Kraków. After winning the elections, Andrzej Duda moved to Warsaw. Where does Duda live? He did not follow in the footsteps of his predecessor and decided to live in Krakowskie Przedmieście. Andrzej Duda will live in the apartment intended for the head of state until the spring of 2025, when the next presidential elections should be held.

The interior of the Presidential Palace is impressive. The president’s exclusive use is an apartment with a total area of ​​200 square meters. Located on the second floor of the palace, it is closely guarded by security. It includes a study, living room, bedroom, bathroom and small kitchen.

The comfort and convenience of the head of state and his family are ensured by cooks, maids and a gardener who takes care of, among other things, o winter garden and located on the slope of the Presidential Palace. There is also a chapel on the ground floor. Years ago, there were rumors about golden door handles, taps and even gold-plated bathtubs that Danuta Wałęsa brought to the palace. Ultimately, the First Ladies are responsible for the design and decoration of the apartment.

However, the Presidential Palace is not only the president’s private apartment. The representative rooms include: The Great Hall, where the head of state officially welcomes the leaders of other countries and other most important guests. We will find there, among others: a marble fireplace and a display case made of Greek white marble, in which the Banner of the Republic of Poland is displayed. The Hall of the Order of the White Eagle is a place where various memorabilia related to, among others, with the Second Polish Republic. In addition to marble, crystal chandeliers, luxurious and elegant furniture in the interiors of the Presidential Palace, there are also valuable works of art.
