Adan Canto, the star of “Narcos” and “X-Men”, has died. He was only 42 years old

Adan Canto was a Mexican-American actor. In recent years, he has performed, among others, in “Narcos”, “The Cleaning Lady” or the movie “X-men: Days of Future Past”. Canto died of cancer – he did not inform the American media further about his illness.

Adan Canto was a talented actor who, in recent years, also started getting main roles in TV series. He started from Mexican productions in single episodes of crime series and soap operas, to supporting roles in films. In 2013, however, he was noticed in Hollywood – he received a short role in the series “The Following” alongside Kevin Bacon, and a year later in the movie “X-Men. Days of Future Past”. He played Sunspot there.

In the following years, he appeared regularly in several productions a year. He appeared in “Narcos”, “The Gates of Hell”, “Designated Survivor” and “Battered”. In 2022, he finally received one of the main roles in the series – in “The Cleaning Lady”. That same year, he also welcomed his second child.

Until mid-2022, he informed about his professional plans very regularly and frequently on social media. He also showed shots from family life. However, in the middle of the year his account went silent and he stopped appearing on the payrolls of new productions. It was probably then that he received the diagnosis – appendiceal cancer. The actor did not inform observers about the disease, his death in early 2024 was a shock for many. He died on January 8. His relatives said goodbye to him with a quote from Tolkien, which talks about suffering beyond measure.
