2023 ended with a great revolution in public media. After the new government took power, more journalists returned to Polish Radio. Recently, for the first time in years, “Teleexpress” was hosted by Maciej Orłości, and Jarosław Kulczycki and Marek Czy¿ also returned to Public Television.

Another name that is being discussed loudly in the context of changes in public media is Jarosław Kret. The journalist was a weather forecaster on TVP for almost 15 years, but everything changed during the rule of Law and Justice. “In June 2016, PiS officers kicked me out of TVP, where I had been doing various programs since the 1990s and weather forecasts for 14 years,” Kret wrote on Instagram.
The journalist confessed that it was not an easy situation for him. “I was very sick of being thrown out, and when I escaped the clutches of depression, on December 25, 2019, I made my first weather forecast on Polsat,” says Kret.

The weather forecaster revealed that before the end of 2023 he asked the management to terminate the contract. “I would like to thank the authorities of this station for taking me in. I met a lot of wonderful people here, and I also met a lot of companions in misery, once thrown out of TVP by PiS,” he writes. This fact suggests that the Mole already has professional plans for the future. Taking into account his internship at TVP and the great changes in the media, he has probably already received an offer from the new authorities of Telewizja Polska.
When will Jarosław Kret return to TVP and will he announce the weather again? We don’t know that yet. However, “Presserwis” received information that the journalist will appear in TVP’s weather forecast in January.
