The last two weeks of 2023 were dominated by the film “Rebel Moon Part 1: Child of Fire”. Zack Snyder’s latest work was not met with enthusiasm by critics, but viewers eagerly reached for a production clearly inspired by the Star Wars universe. This is indicated by the global ranking of the most watched English-language films on Netflix. The title was in first place for the last two weeks of the year.

The list also included the apocalyptic psychological thriller “Leave the World Behind” with Julia Roberts, and the podium was closed by the film hit “Pretty Woman”, which was released on the platform on December 23. Netflix also summarized the most watched foreign-language films in the last week of last year. The Polish title was in the TOP10.
The first place on the list was taken by the comedy “A Vampire in the Family”, the second place by the documentary “Curry & Cyanide – The Jolly Joseph Case” about a woman who was accused of poisoning six members of her family. The podium ends with the Swedish “Thank You and I’m Sorry” about Sara, whose peaceful life suddenly turns upside down.
“The Taming of the Shrew 2” is a hit on Netflix
The Polish production took seventh place on the list. It’s about “The Taming of the Shrew 2” by Filip Zylber. A romantic comedy with Mikołaj Roznerski and Magdalena Lamparska about a couple whose love is tested. Partners suspect each other of cheating. The situation is not made easier by the fact that their neighbors are constantly intruding on their privacy.
In the film, apart from the main characters, we will also see Dorota Stalińska, Piotr Cyrwus and Sławomir Zapała. Netflix viewers spent almost 3 million hours with the production.
