A joke made from the Golden Globes stage froze the audience. There was a deafening silence

The Golden Globes are behind us. The award ceremony could not take place without a gala. This year, “Little Oscars” chose comedian Jo Koy – a debutant in the field of hosting award shows. But it wasn’t him who made the room silent.

Jo Koy tried his best on stage to entertain the audience. Not everything went according to plan. The comedian was the host of an awards gala for the first time and tried various erotic tricks from the stage – he insulted the audience, praised himself, explained the staleness of the jokes and explained that he had little time to prepare. Another guest “stole” the show – Jim Gaffigan, when presenting the statuette for the best stand-up or comedy performance on television, allowed himself a bit too much.

Golden Globes 2024. “Jokes” about pedophilia from the stage

There was no experimentation with the Golden Globe Awards this year. Traditionally, there was one presenter and a dozen or so people handing out the statuettes. The script was written out carefully, joke by joke, but not all audience reactions can be predicted.

– Your last performance will go down in history – Jo Koy began, turning to Robert De Niro.

How on earth did you get her pregnant in her 80s?! Is this baby a special effects work?!

– he blurted out.

The comedian, of course, referred to the recent information about the pregnancy and birth of the actor’s 45-year-old partner, Tiffany Chen. The woman gave birth to a daughter in April last year – this is his seventh child. De Niro pretended to cough into his kulak, and Jo Koy realized that he probably exaggerated a bit because he covered his eyes and asked the audience if the actor was still looking at him.

And although Koy tried very hard to make the room and the audience laugh, the winner in the “worst joke of the evening” category belongs to Jim Gaffigan. The comedian stated that a few days after publishing the so-called “Epstein’s client list” is enough time to start making jokes about pedophilia. However, he began to say that for him – a resident of a small town – it was an honor to be at such a gala.

– I’m from a small town in Indiana. I’m not a pedophile!! – he started, but was answered by timid laughter. Therefore, encouraged by this reaction, Gaffigan decided to delve deeper into the topic. – I don’t even know if this isn’t some new category here, but… – he paused, waiting for an outburst of laughter and applause. These did not happen.

Epstein files revealed

. The man allegedly managed a network of “acquaintances” in which he provided women and underage girls “for company” to famous people. The documents, numbering hundreds of pages, included, among others: the names of Kevin Spacey, Bruce Willis and George Lucas, but also Cate Blanchett, Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz. Importantly, none of the stars has been charged with anything and is not a suspect in the case – their names were included in the files most often as part of Epstein’s boasts, which he supposedly knew absolutely everyone in Hollywood.

(Epstein) would hang up and say, ‘Oh, it was Leonardo,’ or ‘It was Cate Blanchett, or Bruce Willis,’ that was his habit.

– said Epstein’s accuser, Johanna Sjoberg, who was questioned by lawyers. She claimed that in this way Epstein wanted to impress her as a person with contacts. Sjoberg is one of Jeffrey Epstein’s accusers and one of his numerous victims. She was also allegedly molested by Prince Andrew.
