Adam Giza in “Panorama” and the main edition “” dealt primarily with the broad topic of health. He prepared materials about coronavirus, flu, and preventive tests. , in which he described his professional path and indicated that he had no connections with politics on Polish Television.
As you can see, he managed to keep his job at TVP. As one of the people who remained from the times of the previous politicized team, she has seen with her own eyes the change that has been taking place at Telewizja Polska since mid-December.
Adam Giza from TVP summarizes the changes in the media
On December 20 last year, Minister of Culture Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz dismissed the management boards and presidents of public media that in recent years, using taxpayers’ money, had conveyed an extremely one-sided point of view to Poles. The faces of major news and current affairs programs lost their jobs. Some former employees do not recognize the decisions of the new Supervisory Boards and remain convinced that TVP is still “their” – Micha³ Adamczyk was appointed, for example, as president, although the new Supervisory Board entrusted this task to Tomasz Sygut.
Meanwhile, Adam Giza remained at TVP. Although he was one of the faces of the “old” Polish Television, as he claims, he is still employed by it. In an interview with “Fakt”, he summarized the latest purge in public media – including: turning off the TVP Info signal, deleting old “Wiadomości” or removing the previous hosts of current affairs programs:
The change was necessary because we actually had to think about how to separate the world of political influence from the world of journalism. As for the form of how it was done, I think it could have been done more gently and then there would probably be less controversy around it. However, the change was certainly necessary to take on a new form and return to the world of journalism textbooks – without influence, pressure and political games on news websites – he comments. Unfortunately, the atmosphere in the corridors at Telewizja Polska is not conducive to well-being. – As is typical in show business, there is often information in the corridor that is unverified. The atmosphere inside was actually such that one person told the other something along the lines of: you don’t work tomorrow, and you don’t work the day after tomorrow.
Adam Giza used the interview with “Fakt” as a letter of intent that was not sent to other editorial offices. Already in October, he signaled by e-mail that he was not involved in politics, but now – instead of meeting with his employer – he once again stated that he was ready for new proposals from TVP, but also from the competition. So far, some stations have explicitly declared that they do not intend to employ anyone from the “old” TVP Info (this is what Polsat did, for example). What fate awaits Adam Giza? We will undoubtedly find out soon.
