Maciej Orłości again on TVP
Maciej Orłości previously worked at “Teleexpress” for 25 years. He hosted the first program on June 15, 1991. Today, few people remember that he graduated from the Theater Academy. Aleksander Zelwerowicz in Warsaw and before he started appearing regularly on the afternoon news service of TVP1, he worked as a professional.
He performed in the capital: the New Theater (1982-1983), the Ateneum Theater (1983-1989) and the Popular Theater (1984). He made his debut as an actor in 1975 as a young king in “Kazimierz Wielki”, and he was still a child in dubbing. However, these plans were thwarted by… a mutation.
The first production in his adult career was “Hania” directed by Krzysztof Wierzbiański and Stanisław Wohl. For some time, he tried to combine two jobs: presenter and actor. His filmography includes titles such as “The Silent Telephone”, “Escape from the Freedom Cinema”, “Schindler’s List” and “Weak Faith” as well as series – e.g. “In the Labyrinth”, “Forty Year Old – Twenty Years Later”, “Backpack Full of Adventures”. or “Złotopolscy”. In an interview with the student magazine “PDF” he said:
When my adventure with television was just gaining momentum, I had huge doubts. I was afraid that because of this journalistic episode I would miss acting. Reality showed that I was not wrong. However, television turned out to be my main role, and acting was only an important episode.
However, in 2016, he decided to leave “Teleexpress” and later said that it was the best professional decision of his life. He did not want to be the face of TVP under the rule of president Jacek Kurski. However, he decided to run the program again when Tomasz Sygut, appointed by Minister Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, became president.
