Born in 1947, Worosiewicz graduated in psychology from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and directing from the Film School in Łódź. He made his film debut in 1988 with the famous production “Kornblumenblau”. The script for the film was based on the book “Spokoć się sen”, written by a former prisoner of KL Auschwitz. Ten years later, the director made “Home Chronicles” and later the series “Przeprowadzki”. Leszek Wosiewicz was also involved in work on the “Pilecki Report”, which premiered in September 2023. The director became the artistic supervisor of the production.

“Leszek Wosiewicz was a great director. We were united by a view of reality through a lens that is not entirely serious… This is a huge, unexpected loss, although it was known that Leszek was ill. Every passing of a friend and a great director with whom we have a close bond any joint achievements is very sad news,” Cezary Harasimowicz, a friend of the deceased director, told Radio Two.
Ewa Błaszczyk, who met the artist many years ago, also said goodbye to Wosiewicz: “I met Leszek at the beginning of my professional path. He was, in human terms, an important person in my life.”
Leszek Wosiewicz was one of the co-founders of the Film Studio. K. Irzykowski and a member of the Polish Filmmakers Association. He lectured at the Department of Television and Film Directing at WRiTV, University of Silesia in Katowice. He also received many awards, including two for the production of “Rozdroże Cafe”.
