Currently, the most discussed changes are in Polish Television, but these are also coming to Polish Radio. The most iconic antenna of Polish Radio is Trójka, whose reputation was successively destroyed by the then government. Throughout the entire period of the so-called good change, the station’s management was constantly changing, but in 2020 most journalists said goodbye to the station.
The new head of Program III of Polish Radio may be a former journalist of the station with extensive experience
The current director of Trójka, Maciej Wąsiewicz, has been managing the station for over two years and is the fifth director in the last three years. According to the website, his place may soon be taken by Agnieszka Szydłowska, who was a music and culture journalist at Radio Trójka for 17 years.
She hosted such cultural and musical programs as “Radio Dom Kultury”, “Chillout Cafe”, “PS” and “Alternative Program”, which was the journalist’s own program. It presented a variety of songs that could not be found in other radio stations or other Trójka programs, where listeners were less likely to hear innovative music.
On May 18, 2020, she resigned in protest against the censorship of the results of the 1998 edition of the Program III Hits Chart, which was won by Kult’s song “Your pain is better than mine”, the lyrics of which attacked the president of PiS, Jarosław Kaczyński. Three days later, the journalist appeared at the Senate committee on the situation in the editorial office, where she openly criticized the behavior of her bosses. The consequence of this was the termination of cooperation with Szydłowska by TVP Kultura, where she hosted, among others, “Sunday with…” program.
After a few months, she started working for the online station newonce.radio, where she made her debut on September 21. Her first guest was Marek Niedźwiecki, with whom she hosted the previously mentioned “Chillout Cafe” program with broadly understood relaxation music on Trójka. In the new station, she was the host of such programs as “PS. Gra”, “Tygodnik” and “Hour of Time”, co-hosted by the writer Dorota Masłowska. Until 2023, the journalist’s common-law partner, Bartek Czarkowski, was also associated with newonce.radio.
