Grzegorz Roman starred in his first one when he was only 6 years old. As a child, he starred in the cult series. Years later, he admitted that he was not satisfied with how he turned out
The broadcast of “The Incredible Adventures of Marek Piegus” began in 1967, when Grzegorz Roman was only 12 years old. It was the neighbors who persuaded Grzegorz’s father to take him to a casting for “Wyrok”. They saw him as a charismatic boy and that’s how his adventure on film sets began. The series tells the adventures of an unlucky boy who experiences many interesting and funny situations. Viewers loved Grzegorz Roman as Marek Piegus, but he himself was not satisfied with the role. – I really didn’t like myself in what turned out to be my most famous film, although it certainly brought me great popularity and turned out to be a great adventure – after many years.
He wanted to play Staś in “In Desert and Wilderness”. When he didn’t get the role, he quit acting
As a 15-year-old, Grzegorz Roman dropped out of school and took a job in a car repair shop, but eventually returned to school and passed his high school final exams. His big dream was to play Staś in the upcoming film adaptation of “In Desert and Wilderness”, but when he went to the casting, he was told that he was not suitable to be an actor. – It was a moment of sobering. The director made the right decision by casting Tomek Mędrzak as Staś, but I was very upset about it. Only later did I realize that in feeling sorry, I had lost the ability to self-evaluate. Then I decided to end my adventure with acting – in an interview. Grzegorz Roman abandoned his career. For some time he ran a jewelry shop and also worked as a photojournalist. In the 1980s he went to Germany. Currently, he lives with his wife on the Spanish island of Fuerteventura and runs a company organizing tours and cruises. – We were driving in the dark. He shaves and has fun, not knowing Spanish. Just in case, we bought round-trip tickets. However, these returns turned out to be unnecessary – he admitted.
