The recent Mystery Box challenge Masterchef Celebrity Ecuador (Teleamazonas) tested participants on their ability to condense the flavors of a dish into one bite. In fact, they had to submit two such proposals.

The winners of the test, which took place on the night of this Friday, December 29, were the singer Daniel Beta, journalist Hellen Quiñónez and actress Cecilia Cascante. That’s why all three of them are competing for the chef’s pin.

Daniel stood out with a pesto and fried meat appetizer, which reminded him of his childhood and was considered a great idea by chef Jorge Rausch. “I’m going to copy it, well played.” Her second dish was a lemon tart, inspired by her grandmother.

Cecilia dazzled with a cebichito manaba and some fried sushi rice balls, with a mixture of shrimp-sriracha mayonnaise and panko. “It’s the best thing you’ve done in the entire competition,” Rausch declared and then gave him the cheek gesture, which is awarded as a prize for the best dish. “What a difference from the Cecilia that came with the starter, and which now accompanies a well-prepared, refined dish,” added jury member Irene González.

For her part, Hellen stood out with some chicken croquettes and dessert. “The flavors of both are very good,” judged Carolina Sánchez.

Another participant who performed remarkably well was YouTuber Anthony Swag, but he was not declared one of the winners of the challenge. The influencer prepared an ‘inverted’ corviche and some blintzes (Jewish desserts) that caught the attention of Rausch, who professes this religion.

Not being counted among the winners, Anthony said he felt “stinged.” “I got stung, because they didn’t call me. I feel like my bites were fighting to win, but good, good for Hellen, for Ceci and for Daniel, that one of them gets a chance to earn the chef pin .”
