Gypsy Rose Blanchard He was released from prison this Thursday, December 28, after serving 8 years for his role in the murder of his mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. The young woman, then 23 years old, would convince her boyfriend to commit a crime to get rid of her mother’s abuse in 2015.

For years, her mother forced her to pretend that she was suffering from leukemia, muscular dystrophy and other serious diseases. Dee Dee even shaved off her daughter’s hair to make her look like a cancer patient and forced her to use a wheelchair and feeding tube even though she didn’t need them.

Dee Dee also said that her daughter is mentally the age of a 7-year-old girl, and that she cannot develop with people her own age. But as Gypsy grew up, she rebelled against her mother’s lies.

Gypsy had always been a healthy child, but her mother claimed that her daughter was very sick. Doctors diagnosed Dee Dee by proxy with Munchausen syndrome, in which, according to the specialized portal Medlineplus, the guardian of a minor “makes up false symptoms or induces real ones to show that the child is sick.”

The murder of Dee Dee Blanchard

When Gypsy was 21, she met a man on an online dating site. It was Nicholas Godejohn with whom she became a partner and to whom she told about her mother’s tricks.

The couple shared intimate photos and decided to meet in person. The meeting took place at the cinema where Rose went with her mother, to whom she lied saying she was going to the toilet, but in fact it was to meet Godejohn at that place.

According to the testimony of both, that day, in the first meeting, they had sex in the men’s toilet of the cinema. So the relationship became more serious and they started coming up with a plan to kill Dee Dee so they could be together.

One night, Godejohn arrived at Gpysy’s house while his mother was asleep, and with a knife given to him by the same young woman, killed Dee Dee. The two then ran away to start a life together, but were discovered by the police, who thought someone had kidnapped Gpysy.

During the investigation, the authorities learned about the situation and the abuse that the young woman had suffered for years. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison, while Godejohn received a life sentence.

Testimony of Gypsy Rose Blanchard

After spending time in prison, Gypsy admitted that she regretted planning to kill her mother.

“I was desperate to get out of that situation,” she said in an exclusive interview with People, days before her release.

“If I had the chance to do it all over again, I don’t know if I would go back to the time when I was a child and tell my uncles and aunts that I’m not sick and that I’m sick of my mom,” she revealed. “She didn’t deserve it, she was a sick woman, and I, unfortunately, wasn’t educated enough to see that. She deserved to be here, I’m here. “I’m in prison serving a sentence for criminal behavior.”

After leaving prison, Gypsy will be reunited with her father and stepmother, as well as her husband Ryan Anderson (37), a teacher from Louisiana whom she married last year behind bars. (AND)
