Agnieszka Sitek was only a year after graduating from the Warsaw theater school when the producers asked her to join the cast. Although she initially didn’t know much about her heroine, she agreed without much thought, taking on the role of Weronika, the wife of Mirek Gabriel, played by Radosław Elis.

The TV series couple quickly gained viewers’ sympathy, especially when it turned out that they were expecting a child. Soon, however, their plot completely changed course, all because the actor left the production due to professional commitments. – Radek, who played my first husband, signed a contract for a role in another series. The scriptwriters got out of the situation: Mirek leaves Weronika and goes to America. This turned out to be a great point. He left without a word, left her pregnant – Sitek in an interview with Gazeta Wyborcza. However, the heroine’s despair did not last long, and she healed her broken heart alongside Waldek (played by Andrzej Nejman), her husband’s cousin.
The scriptwriters constantly spiced up the atmosphere by introducing intricate plot threads that attracted more and more viewers. This made Siteki’s popularity skyrocket. She was not particularly thrilled with this fact, because many viewers identified her with the TV series’ Weronika. – I became worried. Mr. Henryk Machalica calmed me down. He made me realize that it also has its good sides. I will stop being anonymous and it will be up to me what I do with it, she recalled. Unexpectedly, however, right after marrying Waldek, the series’ Weronika left for the USA, where she disappeared without a trace.

There were many rumors and speculations about Siteki’s departure. It was suggested that the reason was its difficult nature, which made cooperation impossible, or excessive conditions. Finally, the actress decided to speak out on the matter. – I resigned from the role after a long conversation with the late Marian Terlecki, the then co-producer of the series. The conversation mainly concerned plans related to the development of my character and artistic expression. Not finances. Someone kindly turned this whole situation into news – doubts were published in “Życie na hot”.
After ending her cooperation with the TVP production, Sitek, contrary to rumors, did not give up acting. She appeared as a guest on stages in Bydgoszcz, and in the years 2000-2008 she performed on the stage of the Ochota Theater in the capital. – This is where I became an actress, here I understood what this profession was all about and here I am still learning it. This is a unique place where work gives me satisfaction and allows me to develop. I prefer to devote my entire life, not only my professional life, to it, rather than take part in TV or film projects of questionable quality that do not reflect the truth about me as a person, she explained. Since then, she has appeared on screens sporadically. She starred in productions such as: “Kill Sekal”, “The Witcher” or . In the meantime, she also graduated in special education, which is where she became professionally involved, conducting classes for children and teenagers.
