“Ani Mru-Mru” is one of the most popular bands in Poland, which had its debut on December 1, 1999. It is created by Waldemar Wilkołek and Marcin Wójcik, who is also its founder and author of most of the sketches. What else does the beloved satirist do?
Not only cabaret and stage. What is Marcin Wójcik’s profession?
Wójcik’s former friends emphasize that he had a cabaret talent from his youth. However, before he decided to conquer the stage, he decided to acquire a solid profession and education. For this reason, he graduated from the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw and today he could work, for example, as a school teacher. Why did he decide on this direction? The motivation was the love of sport. – When I started the cabaret, I wasn’t sure it would be successful, but I wanted to try. And since people liked it… As for studies at the University of Physical Education, if you love physical education and want to play football, you think that these studies will be the most enjoyable in the world. And in a way it was, although I didn’t realize that it was such a difficult direction – in one of the interviews.
Ultimately, however, his professional path was with cabaret. In addition to his appearances in the program, he has also undertaken other projects. He has participated in the improvised series “Spadkobiercy”, as well as episodes in such productions as “I am M. Misfit”. He also served as the host of the game show “Next Please”, and successfully hosted various parties and events, including: “Flying Club 2” or “Cabaret Club Two”.
Wójcik met his wife when he was a teenager. Today, family is his priority
Although Wójcik’s popularity has not waned for nearly 25 years, his career is not his priority. Privately, the satirist is a husband and father. He has been in a close-knit and happy marriage with Magdalena, whom he met in high school. – I am constant in my feelings. I met Magdalena, my wife, in high school. I appreciate her brilliant sense of humor and so far I have not met a woman who is better than her in this respect – he said about his beloved in an interview for “Show”.
The couple had a daughter, Nadia, who inherited the cabaret artist’s talent and passion for the stage. Due to his family, Wójcik limited his professional activity to a minimum and currently works only 10 days a month. He wants to spend as much time as possible with both his wife and daughter. Although he was repeatedly offered higher rates, he did not decide to give up this decision, because, as he argues, what is most important is priceless. – Unfortunately, this money cannot buy time spent with your child. The sooner you realize this, the better – he explained in an interview for “Fakt”.
