Sebastian Karpiel-Bu³ecka sharply about New Year’s Eve. “I’m crazy”

Sebastian Karpiel-Bu³ecka, vocalist of the band Zakopower, does not have a very good opinion about New Year’s Eve – a great event at the end of the year that takes place in Zakopane under the wings of TVP. In the latest interview he said what he didn’t like.

also this year it will appear at Równia Krupowa in Zakopane. For residents, it is not only an opportunity to earn money, but also an additional problem. Apart from the noise generated by the several-hour-long TVP concert, there are also other complications in Zakopane.

One of the people who directly criticizes the organization of the New Year’s Eve party in this city is the vocalist of the band Zakopower who lives in this area. In an interview with “Gazeta Wyborcza”, the musician said what, in his opinion, “doesn’t work” on New Year’s Eve.

Not everyone is happy about New Year’s Eve. Sebastian Karpiel-Bułecka speaks sharply

Sebastian Karpiel-Bułecka, an architect by profession, designed his own house with a view of the Tatra Mountains in Kościelisko near Zakopane. However, in the mountains, all the noise from the city carries for many kilometers, and on New Year’s Eve it will be exceptionally loud there. The New Year’s Eve of Dreams, organized for several years – the work of Jacek Kurski, former president of TVP, is a blessing for some, but a nightmare for others in the heart of the Tatra Mountains. Karpiel-Bułecka belongs rather to the latter group.

In an interview with “Gazeta Wyborcza” he summed up the annual event quite sharply. He complained, among other things, to the devastation of the area intended for New Year’s Eve. But the quality of the concert itself is also a problem. Although it is supposed to be at the highest world level, artists much more often choose playback performances:

Today, when I see disco polo bands playing semi-playback, my blood boils. And when I saw that they dressed these musicians as highlanders, I was really shocked – he said in an interview with “Wyborcza”.

Residents are reluctant to celebrate New Year’s Eve

Positive words from residents about New Year’s Eve are rarely reported in the media. For several years now, there have been mainly complaints about the noise (it’s the biggest event here every year) and the dirt left behind by the organizers and guests. A year ago, the police were even sent to the concert area a few days before the New Year – the organizers consistently did not observe night curfew, and sound reinforcement tests continued after 10 p.m.

Hoteliers are undoubtedly happy as they can count on full occupancy on these days – the concert from two years ago was supposedly watched by up to 45,000 people on site. A free outdoor event attracts more tourists than closed and organized balls. However, New Year’s Eve lasts only a few hours – then the city is left with a mess to clean up.

Residents will remember this New Year’s Eve of Dreams all year long. Mess, mountains of garbage, feces on cages and properties – you could read a year ago on social media.

There were also quite terrible pictures of the city itself, drowning in garbage in places. We keep our fingers crossed that this time the organizers took care to dispose of waste after the fun more efficiently.
