Some time ago, the director blamed one of the jokes used in the film. Despite this, the production enjoys great sympathy, popularity and sentiment among fans. One of the memorable scenes from “Love Actually” is the one in which the character played by buys a necklace. It turns out that the actor had a big problem with it.

Let’s remind. Harry, played by Rickman, father of two children and husband of Karen (played by Emma Thompson), is fascinated by his secretary, Mia (Heike Makatsch), and becomes involved in an affair with her. The truth comes to light on Christmas evening, when Karen discovers that he was not buying the expensive necklace for her some time earlier. She caught him at a jewelry stand. This wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the salesman played by Rowan Atkinson.
It was the scene of buying the necklace that caused Rickman the most problems. It was all Atkinson’s fault. Harry in the movie was in a hurry to buy a gift secretly from his wife, but he is extremely unlucky. Rufus, a salesman, decides to show off his gift wrapping talent. – It’s not a purse. It’s more than just a bag, she says. And so the necklace ends up in a case, then in foil, with flowers, lavender sprigs, a cinnamon stick… Finally, Rickman’s character loses patience.

– Rowan took his time.
