Olaf Lubaszenko is one of the most popular actors in Poland. His artistic achievements include over 50 roles both on stage and on screen. He appeared, among others: in “A Short Film About Love”, “Killing Sekal” and “Dogs”. He is also a director and producer. He created such cult films as “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Coyote Morning”. Few people know, however, that he started his career at the age of 12.
Lubaszenko led a party lifestyle. There are legends about his antics to this day
In his youth, Lubaszenko was fond of partying, which often caused trouble for himself, becoming the hero of high-profile incidents. In the podcast of Kuba Wojewódzki and Piotr Kêdzierski, he decided to reveal the behind-the-scenes of one of them, which ended with him being thrown out of the hotel and banned from entering. – I got kicked out because I spilled wine on the wall. Sophia – How did that happen?
The actor went to Łódź, where another film with his participation was being made. After work, he went to SPATiF, accompanied by two filmmakers. When the place closed, he suggested moving the party to the place where he was staying. On the way to the hotel, the gentlemen bought some wine, but only when they got there they realized that they did not have a corkscrew. They started looking for ways to open the drink, which ultimately led to disaster.
His friends left him with a stain on the wall. The next day he was thrown out of the hotel
First, the young art students went to the reception, but when the staff was not helpful, they began to consider other options. Then one of them remembered an idea he had heard once. It involved wrapping a bottle in a towel and then bouncing it against a wall. – And he hit the towel four or five times and at one point it all exploded. The whole room was covered with red dots, the actor recalled. – Then there was silence, they looked at each other and decided that they would go. I was left alone with it, I went to bed and in the morning I went to take photos, he said.
During his absence, routine cleaning was carried out, during which the staff discovered stains left on the ceiling. The unaware actor returned to the hotel, where serious consequences of last night’s prank were waiting for him. – When I returned, there was a suitcase waiting for me and a ban on entry – he recalled, adding that he still feels embarrassed thinking about this unfortunate situation.
