Before he died, he left her 14 gifts. The neighbors loved him

Two-year-old Cadi has formed a close bond with her elderly neighbor, Ken Watson. The 87-year-old man immediately liked the girl and treated her like his own granddaughter. He didn’t have any grandchildren himself, and the Williamses took an immediate liking to him as well. As Owen Williams recalled in an interview with “”, the 87-year-old repeatedly noted that he intended to live to be 100. He gave gifts and souvenirs not only to Cadi, but also to other children in the neighborhood. “He was like,” Williams recalled. He suffered from cancer and died at the end of 2018.

Every year he unwraps a special gift. “He bought it and prepared it for our daughter for the next 13 years.”

Shortly after his death, on a rainy evening, Ken’s daughter knocked on the Williams’ door.

In a post published on Twitter, he showed gifts wrapped in Christmas paper. That same year, two-year-old Cadi unwrapped her first gift. There was a plush goat inside. Earlier, the family unwrapped another gift with torn paper, inside which they found a book with a Christmas fairy tale.

Cadi will open gifts every year until she is 16. The family living in Wales decided, in line with Internet users’ suggestions, that they would give Cadi gifts once a year, although for a moment they considered whether to unwrap them all at once. However, they decided to make it a small Christmas tradition to also honor the memory of their deceased neighbor. Cadi also received a wooden train with her name and a giant coloring book.
