The “Scandinavian sleeping method” can save your relationship. The expert has no doubts. “I love it”

Couples all over the world have been using this method for years, says the sleep hygiene expert who runs the TikTok account. The man runs his own company, producing high-quality mattresses and pillows. In his opinion, the “Scandinavian sleep method” can even save our relationship.

We all have our own habits when it comes to sleep. Some people need to go to sleep in a room that is properly ventilated and slightly cool, others love to bury themselves in cloud bedding and fall asleep surrounded by warmth. Still others fall asleep to relaxing sounds – e.g. the sounds of the sea, rain or simply listening to a podcast. Others will prefer to wear earplugs and a blindfold, because complete darkness and silence facilitate proper hygiene.

The list could go on and on: waking up in the morning when our partner has a slightly different circadian rhythm, burying ourselves in the duvet while the other person prefers to sleep without, snoring, fidgeting.

These seemingly trivial differences can actually change a lot – because they concern an extremely important part of our lives, which is sleep time – rest for the body and brain. It is therefore not surprising that some disagreements may arise between partners because of this.

The “Scandinavian sleeping method” will save your relationship, says the expert

Some couples, for example, decide to sleep in separate rooms during the working week. This does not negatively affect their relationship, and often on the contrary: the bond, closeness and intimacy become stronger. This was recently talked about by a British woman named Tiffany, who decided to share separate beds with her husband. The married couple sleeps separately from Monday to Friday (unless they want otherwise), and on weekends they return to the same bed:

Of course, this is not a solution for everyone. Some people even need their loved one next to them to fall asleep. This includes: about touch, smell, sense of security. Which again does not solve the problem with bedding – everyone has different preferences as to its quantity, quality and texture. Whenever we have heard joking stories from friends about the eternal “fight over the duvet” in relationships?

Is the “Scandinavian sleeping method” a way to have a successful relationship? “I personally love it”

That is why the so-called “Scandinavian sleeping method”, thanks to which you get the impression that – although you sleep together – everyone has their own, intimate place in the same bed. This method is child’s play. As the “sleep expert” who runs the TikTok account @Levitex explains, all you need to do is simply sleep under two separate duvets.

This gives you the opportunity to create your own sleeping environment without having to (…) sleep in separate rooms

– explains the tiktoker.

Personally, I love this because it allows you to decide what you do using your own heat. Without disturbing your partner. And you both stay in the same bed

– he praised the “Scandinavian sleeping method”.

The video he posted was eagerly commented on by Internet users. Some people confirmed that they have been sleeping like this for years and it is very beneficial to them.

My partner and I have separate duvets, each with a different TOG value (degree of thermal transmittance of the material, – ed.), because we have very different heat tolerances. This works great!

– writes one of the Internet users. However, some people point out that this method does not always work. – The duvet is not a problem. It doesn’t cure snoring, for example – another commenter noted. Another added: “I sleep wrapped around my husband, so it’s not a solution for us.”
