TVP Info – the main information channel during the PiS government – stopped broadcasting on Wednesday several minutes after 11 a.m. This is the result of the Minister of Culture’s earlier dismissal of the management boards of TVP, Polskie Radio and PAP. Until 12 noon, TVP Info broadcast the image from the first program of Telewizja Polska. After 12, however, everything changed.
TVP Info. “Agribusiness” interrupted by a TVP employee
After 12 p.m., a looped video with the TVP 1 logo was broadcast on TVP for a few minutes. Finally, the “Agrobiznes” program scheduled for broadcast on December 20 was broadcast. The first material of the program was broadcast, but the previous presenter did not return to the air after it. Quite suddenly, TVP employee Adrian Borecki appeared in front of the camera.
We have to stop “Agribusiness”. We are starting a special edition of “Wiadomości”, “Wiadomości”, which will be broadcast until the very end. At exactly 11:18, for unknown reasons, the TVP Info signal was turned off. “News” was also supposed to start promptly at 12 o’clock – it also did not start normally. This has never happened before in Polish history, they were probably taken over by Polish… – and here the signal stopped again.
At 12:24 p.m. “Agrobiznes” still had not started. Further promotional blocks appear on TVP Info only in accordance with the advertising grid. At 12.35 “A Year in the Garden EXTRA” was played.
TVP – what do we already know?
On Tuesday, the Sejm passed a resolution on the repair of public media. Most PiS MPs did not take part in the vote. They believe that Telewizja Polska, presenting virtually only their voices over the last eight years, is a model of objectivity. “In defense of TVP” they went to the headquarters of Telewizja Polska in Woronicza and spent the night there.
In the morning, around 11 a.m., Minister of Culture Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz dismissed the presidents and management boards of TVP, Polskie Radio and PAP. Shortly afterwards, the TVP Info channel and website stopped working.
