The pre-premiere screening of “Feedback” took place during the summer holidays during this year’s edition of the New Horizons film festival. The series debuted on Netflix in mid-November and has gained wide attention since then. Viewers appreciate the precision in presenting the everyday life of a person struggling with alcoholism.
Żulczyk drew inspiration from reality. After the series premiere, he is convinced that it was worth it
Recently, the author of the novel Jakub ¯ulczyk visited the Plotka studio, where he gave an interview largely devoted to his fight with alcoholism. When the journalist asked him directly where the idea to create “Feedback” came from, he simply replied that it was during his own therapy. Later, he began to explain his approach to drawing inspiration from the reality around him.
‘Writers are not nice people’ – in the sense that writers very often treat people and reality in a rather utilitarian way. I do that too. (…) It’s not about hurting anyone, but about the fact that I look at certain things as raw materials. I remember that when I was in therapy, undergoing treatment and undergoing some kind of transformation, reevaluating my life, I still had something in the back of my mind: ‘This is such good material that you will waste something if you don’t use it,’ said Żulczyk.
Later, he began to say that it was only after the series premiere that he saw the greatest value of his book. He admitted that he sees that his work is important to many people. He admitted that he receives a lot of messages from readers and viewers who, thanks to reading or watching the show, began to change their lives for the better.
