Is this the end of TVP? Viewers complain about the lack of signal. Changes have just come to TVP

For several days, viewers in various regions of Poland have been complaining about the lack of TVP channels. The reason is the change in television broadcasting in 2023. However, there is a way to avoid this. We tell you how to retune your TV after December 15, 2023.

The first changes in the field of digital terrestrial television broadcasting in Poland were implemented in March 2022, but did not include MUX-3 at that time. This multiplex includes the main channels: TVP1, TVP2, TVP3, TVP Info, TVP Sport, TVP Historia. Now, however, as previously announced, this is changing, which causes many difficulties for viewers.

No TVP signals. Why isn’t TVP1 receiving it?

The third multiplex process in the DVB-T2 HEVC standard, which is intended to improve the quality of services provided, was divided into two stages. The first one took place on the night of December 14-15, 2023 in the following voivodeships: West Pomeranian, Pomeranian, Lubuskie, Greater Poland, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Łódź, Lower Silesian, Opole and Silesian. In turn, on the night of December 18-19, the changes also covered other regions of the country, including the Warmian-Masurian, Podlaskie, Masovian, Lublin, Świętokrzyskie, Lesser Poland and Podkarpackie voivodeships.

However, not everyone is happy with this revolution, and many viewers complain about the lack of signal. However, this is not the end of TVP, as many people boldly began to assume. Is there a way to regain access to the public broadcaster’s popular channels? It turns out that yes.

There is no TVP1? There is a reason for the lack of signal. We know what needs to be done

Since the implementation of changes in the broadcasting standard, many people have been wondering how to retune the TV to still be able to watch channels. If you can still use programs from competing stations, including Polsat or , without any problems, it means that your equipment is adapted to the new technology. In this case, all you need to do is update the list of programs by selecting the appropriate options from the menu, or set them to be automatically searched for. However, the problem occurs when the device is of an older generation, i.e. purchased before 2020. However, there is a way to do it and it does not involve buying a new TV.

A budget solution to this problem is to equip yourself with a DVB-T2 decoder that will enable the reception of terrestrial television. Its price varies, depending on the manufacturer, from PLN 100 to PLN 200. It will also be necessary to purchase an antenna, preferably external, equipped with an additional amplifier. After appropriate installation of the equipment, access to TVP channels should be restored.
