The tension in TVP is growing. “They are waiting to be taken away in wheelbarrows”

Those in power announce imminent changes in Polish Television, and TV bosses calm down their journalists. One of TVP’s employees talked about the tense atmosphere in the station.

Since the announcement of the results of the last elections, there has been speculation about changes in the public media. Experts emphasize that the current government faces a huge challenge to rebuild trust, especially in Telewizja Polska. Media experts point out that in this case it is necessary to replace staff.

The tension in TVP is growing, and the station’s managers are calming down the employees

Recently, the media have been announcing the departure of subsequent journalists almost every day. Even the biggest TV stars were to resign. Danuta Holecka disappeared from the main edition of “Wiadomości”, and Micha³ Adamczyk also terminated the contract. It is said that Miłosz Kłeczek will soon leave TVP Info, while Damian Diaz, a reporter from Telewizja Polska, has already found a new job at the National Bank of Poland.

One of the employees there describes the tense atmosphere at TVP Onet. The interlocutor admitted that young journalists are rather calm, which cannot be said about those who joined the station at the beginning of PiS’s rule. “From time to time, the management calms us down. They say that only the National Media Council can throw us out, so we should stay calm,” says an anonymous source.

TVP employee: Many journalists are waiting to be taken away in wheelbarrows

Robert Biedroń announced something different and announced specific changes on Polsat, which we will hear about in the next few days. Many TVP journalists have decided to leave on their own, but there are also those who will defend their positions until the end. “Especially those who showed their faces at the station are definitely not laughing. They have their own contingency plans. Many people say they will not leave of their own free will – they are waiting for them to be taken away in wheelbarrows,” says a TVP employee.

When asked whether Danuta Holecka said goodbye to the editorial office of Telewizja Polska, the informant denies it. “She didn’t say goodbye to anyone. We learned from the media that she would no longer appear in the editorial office – these accusations were confirmed. Edyta Lewandowska hosted the edition that day,” he states. He adds that many people have already left without a word. “When someone evacuates from Woronicza, it is done quietly,” he says.
