How? This is mainly about the National Senior Card, which guarantees, among others: discounts in restaurants, cafes or sports facilities, not to mention some cultural institutions. However, it turns out that – after a quick look at supermarket offers – seniors can also count on discounts in individual stores.
An example is the popular Carrefour. Although the company does not honor the National Senior Card, it allows you to obtain the so-called Carrefour Senior Cards. To set it up, simply fill out the form at one of the discount stores.
With a Carrefour card, seniors can count on e-coupons. Discounts are obtained after making single purchases in one of the supermarkets and can be used for next purchases. The condition is to spend a minimum of PLN 50. It’s simple: when shopping, just show your active card and redeem the coupon. The document can also be used electronically, via the store’s application.

Discount for seniors in selected supermarkets
The popular Biedronka discount store also does not honor the National Senior Card. It also does not offer the opportunity to obtain its corporate equivalent. It offers a program “For everyday shopping”, run together with the Caritas organization. The program allows you to get a card at Biedronka for seniors with the most difficult financial situation. How it’s working? This card is subsidized once a month with an amount of PLN 185. To receive a card, you must meet the appropriate financial and age criteria. More information can be found on the website of the Biedronka Foundation and on the Caritas website.
The third option is Auchan, which offers the famous one Piggy bank card. Although anyone can join the loyalty program, seniors over 60 can activate a special type of account. This is an account Senior piggy bank. Together with the card we receive, among others: discounts on selected products. “Discount – funds collected on the Skarbonka Account, subject to exchange to reduce the price of future purchases of products in the Store in accordance with the regulations,” we read on the store’s website.
Currently, there is a special opportunity in Auchan for seniors over 60. When shopping just before Christmas for less than PLN 50, they will receive a 50 percent discount on the Skarbonka Senior card. “Shop from December 14 to December 23 for a minimum of PLN 49, scan the Piggy Bank Card with Senior status and get a 50 percent discount on the Piggy Bank Card!” – we read. More detailed information on the topic of the campaign can be found on the store’s website and at customer service points.
There are no programs intended specifically for seniors, including: in Lidl and Kaufland.
