In March 2006, the first episode debuted on TVN. Despite initial fears, the program immediately became a real hit and each time it attracted several hundred thousand viewers. Although the format that initiated the era of Polish films was taken off the air after 5 years, its reruns are still very popular, as is the actress who plays the title role.

Wesołowska is a lawyer by profession and has many years of professional experience. However, before she made a splash in the program, she focused on educating young people. In the latest interview, she revealed that the idea was born from observations and numerous cases in which she had to bring justice to young people who were unaware of their actions. – I decided that I had to talk to children about the boundaries that should not be crossed and I started inviting them to my hearings. Today, such educational lessons in court are the norm, she recalled the beginnings of the project. Over time, she began to write down the offenses she encountered most often, which ultimately resulted in the creation of . – These are several dozen true stories that have been collected in the book “Youth Safety. Legal Guide”. There, I described the behaviors that most often violate the law among young people, she said about her publication.

When he started preparing for a series showing the realities of court trials, she was offered the main role. Initially, however, she refused because she was afraid that due to the multitude of responsibilities she would not be able to cope with it. – When I was offered to appear in the program, I was adjudicating on the case of the “Łódź octopus”, i.e. a large organized criminal group that had tentacles even in Europe. It was a burden, so I didn’t agree, she said. However, she had great hopes for the format and believed in its success, so she started looking for a person who could take her place, but there were no takers.

It was then that her colleague’s statement made her think. – While looking for young judges in Poznań, a fellow judge told me, “Stop worrying, someone will eventually make money.” Then I thought something was wrong. I cannot expose anyone to ostracism from the community. It was a difficult decision, but I agreed, Wesołowska recalled. However, work on the set was exhausting, because the judge not only starred in the production, but was also professionally active. – I worked in court for 4 days and was on recordings for 3 days. I haven’t had a weekend off for 6 years. But today I know that it was worth it, he argues. Although she is proud of this format and has a sense of mission accomplished, part of the legal community has mocked her television career from the beginning. – I had to endure malicious smiles, but a lot of good things happened to me too. Today I know that thanks to this program, children can get straight in many difficult times, she said.
