Blood collection for most small children means a lot of stress, crying and anxiety. It’s not uncommon for it to end in trauma. First, a long wait in line. Despite common regulations that children and pregnant women should enter out of turn, no one wants to respect this right. On the contrary, often when a mother asks to skip the line to see the nurse, it ends with insults, criticism and unpleasant remarks. Due to stress, such a visit can be prolonged and sometimes it is not possible to collect blood from the child and you have to return to the office the next day.

The patients heard a nurse screaming in the corridor. They thought it was an alarm
On Monday, December 4 An exceptional situation occurred at the University Clinical Center of the Medical University of Warsaw. One of the patients who was waiting for her turn to go to the hospital laboratory reported the whole situation.
This won’t be a post about long queues. A queue like a queue. A nurse comes out of the office and begins in a loud voice – Ladies and Gentlemen, attention, attention!
Initially, the woman thought it was some kind of alarm and that an evacuation might be necessary. None of these things. The nurse continued, shouting down the hall that Igorek, who was about 5-6 years old and just leaving the office, was extremely brave during the blood collection and at this point he asks for applause to appreciate the boy.
“Because if someone works with their heart, they know what to do”
And we all applaud. And then, when dad and Igor walk down the corridor, many people raise their thumbs and say: bravo, Igor. Igor will not have the trauma of having his blood drawn. I was touched by the attitude of this brilliant nurse
– the patient continued in the post. The post and the reaction itself are spreading across the Internet. Internet users are delighted with the nurse’s reaction. They believe that such people are missing. You need to have an approach and a lot of empathy and understanding towards small patients. This woman has clearly found her calling, and every patient who comes to her is very lucky.
It’s heartwarming, we want more situations like this.
Because if someone works with their heart, they know what to do.
Something beautiful, if only there were more such pills, maybe the way people think about us will change.
Great, you have to try it at the point. My brave little patients receive praise and small gifts (diploma, sticker, keychain, etc.). Those less brave also, to refresh their hearts.
Braaaaawo, so little and SO MUCH!
Treat other people the way you would like to be treated. Thirty-something years ago I was taught this at one of the best nursing schools in the country. Huge congratulations to Igor and the lady from the collection point. Way to go.
