Lewandowska advises how not to gain weight during the holidays. Tricks to stay fit for Christmas
A few years ago, Anna Lewandowska decided to discuss the so-called holiday gluttony. The trainer revealed tricks for the period when we spend a lot of time at the table with our loved ones, snacking every now and then. Here are the rules you should follow so as not to burden your stomach and liver too much and easily fit into your New Year’s Eve outfit.
- Start the day with a protein and fat breakfast, e.g. scrambled eggs with vegetables in clarified butter. Thanks to this, you will avoid thinking too much about Christmas Eve dinner and snacking, because such a meal will fill you up.
- Before Christmas Eve dinner, drink two glasses of hot water with lemon or apple cider vinegar to properly prepare your stomach.
- Try to avoid drinking while eating, as it may disturb digestive processes. Instead, do it between them.
- Be moderate and learn to say no. For example, instead of 10 dumplings, eat 3 pieces.
- Take breaks between meals.
- Try to eat your meals in small bites to make sure everything is chewed thoroughly.
- When choosing bread, choose dark bread. Better avoid white.
What to do to have better digestion? Lewandowska reveals ways to overeat during Christmas
In the next handful of tips, the trainer listed ways to improve digestion and cope with difficult to digest foods. It is about:
- adding cumin to dishes. Lewandowska mentions, for example, bigos or cabbage with peas/mushrooms.
- adding healthy fats to dishes.
- start dinner with dessert/carbohydrates that digest the fastest, and end with a protein option.
I know, I know, it may be difficult for many of you, but try it and you will see the difference.
- Make sure there is a healthy dish on the table. Preferably without sugar and wheat.
- A glass of red wine with dinner. In the case of heavier drinks, it is better to drink water in between.
- Before bed, brew lemon balm or fennel to improve digestion, and in the morning drink a cup of nettle to remove excess water from the body.
Lewandowska also drew attention to the movement that should not be missing during this period. It is also a great way to spend time with family and loved ones and improve your well-being. It can be a walk, physical games or a short jog.
Relax, eat carefully, and if your foot slips slightly, don’t feel guilty later. Remember that the nervous system is closely connected to the digestive system.
