Braun shocks, and the Jews dance with the fire extinguisher. Internet users were delighted with the recording from Łódź

Yesterday’s parliamentary scandal involving Grzegorz Braun touched not only the Polish but also the world media and was met with strong ostracism. However, members of the Jewish community from Łódź decided to turn the whole situation with the fire extinguisher into a joke by dancing with it. Medal-worthy distance!

There has not been such a scandal in the Sejm for a long time. In the afternoon, Confederation MP Grzegorz Braun used a fire extinguisher to extinguish the hanukkiah (Jewish candlestick), which had been lit in the corridors of the chamber on the occasion of the Hanukkah celebration. In addition to the prop, a woman taking part in the ceremony was also injured. Braun was condemned not only by the Mosaic religion, but also by other Polish citizens. The topic was also discussed by the world’s largest media.

But who said that Jews lack distance? Members of the Jewish community in Łódź decided to turn the whole situation into a joke and celebrate the holiday with cheerful dances. The problem is that with… a fire extinguisher.

Rabbi Dawid Szychowski posted a recording of the ceremony on Facebook, and the famous prop is passed from hand to hand among the enthusiastic dancers. At one point, a fire extinguisher hovers over the head of one of the participants – almost like the fairy-tale Little Simba above the head of Mufasa from the Disney universe.

“For stupidity with humor!” The Internet is full of recognition of the sense of distance

Joy is visible not only among those celebrating the holiday. Internet users also reacted enthusiastically, appreciating the distance from this scandalous event in the Sejm. “Bravo… wisely… just fight stupidity this way”, “I would dance there with you. For me, this is the most beautiful possible answer, so Happy Hanukkah everyone”, “For stupidity with humor!” – says some of the comments under the video. Interestingly, it is signed by the author as “6 candle!”.

What is Hanukkah? Festival of joy

Hanukkah is the annual Feast of Dedication (also known as the Festival of Fire) usually celebrated in late November and early December. The celebrations commemorating the rededication of the Jerusalem Temple in 165 BC last 8 days and are a time of great joy among the followers of Judaism. An integral part of the celebration is the ritual of lighting lights, candles or oil lamps.

Chanukah – the same as the one famous in the Parliament corridor, consists of five arms and, according to tradition, each evening another candle placed in the candlestick is lit. It should also not be treated as the primary light source – it should be placed in the company of bright lamps.
