In an interview granted to EL UNIVERSO newspaper, the artist said it is a song that tells itself. “The lyrics tell the story of a very strong, exuberant and passionate love experience in a very short time. That’s why I wrote the sentence: “But knowing you’re leaving makes me want to take risks.”
How did this love begin?
Well, this happened a year ago, more or less in the same months. I already knew him, but I didn’t know him. We might have passed each other a few words a while ago, and nothing more. As soon as we actually met, we exchanged long, very deep conversations. From there, the interest and attraction for him was born.
As the song says, this didn’t last long. There was some pretty strong chemistry or connection, I was excited. At that moment, it didn’t matter if we didn’t see each other again or if we didn’t spend the rest of our lives together, so I said, “See you around the corner.” There was already talk of a friendship.

Does that person know about the existence of the single?
With the power of love, mountains move. No lie (laughs). I sent it to him via a voicemail on WhatsApp and he responded well. He was flattered, blushed and embarrassed by the song, but he liked it. He even responded back with a poem and we continued to talk for a while afterwards. We always knew that everything would probably end, but in that moment I felt something very strong.
What were the reactions to the song from your followers?
I shared it on social networks like Instagram and there were a lot of people who identified with it and started sharing it. It was very well received. I have an anecdote of sorts. I was recently in the Galapagos and had a few concerts there. When I sang it, there was a specific person who said to me, “This is the song of the Galapagos.”

And then I understood that he said it because of so many tourists who come and then leave. There are many who experience that kind of fleeting love, who go on vacation for a week, spend all their time together and then have to leave.
A few weeks ago I had one too Show here in Guayaquil for the holidays called a festival Hey Partybut I sang it officially for the first time in Quito, at another festival called The Cantaletawhich took place at the San Gabriel Theater.

Shalom says that the same day he made the song, he showed it to his producer, Ecuadorian Daniel Espinoza. “I said to him, ‘Look what just happened to me.’ And he liked it so much that he said, ‘let’s do it.’ Obviously not at that moment, but that same week we recorded and published a live session.”

One of the highlights of the production process was to have 4.40, Juan Luis Guerra’s Dominican group, participate in the recording of the single. The latter is one of Shalom’s greatest musical references.
How did you get the chance to record with 4.40?
It was very cool. My producer and I have been in touch with the people in the band, so We took advantage of this, we sent them the song, and they really liked it. For me it is also very nice to have the honor that such great and respected musicians in the music industry can have a beautiful experience of this song.
Obviously everything happened remotely between Ecuador and the Dominican Republic, they sent their share back. Knowing that I have giants playing in this song is something spectacular.
Shalom admits it was a topic that put him “in line” because he presented a different title first For a momentreleased on March 24, 2023. “Thank God Alejandro Sanz was able to hear that song when I got to sing with him at his concert in Guayaquil in April,” he noted.
She adds that the music video was directed by Milena Pesantes and that she had the idea for the concept. “From my view or perception, so to speak, the visualizer”.
Shalom hopes that even more listeners can connect with the song on a personal level, because for her it is a “very beautiful story, but always true.” His plans for next year also include releasing singles and giving concerts.
