Fortunately, according to the information published on the collection website on November 14 this year, during the last surgery (November 7 this year), a significant part of the tumor was removed. “The doctor said that they managed to do more than he expected at the beginning. This is very good news for us! The more tumor that has been removed, the more time we have. For now, Teresa is still very weak. She has difficulty speaking. We hope that this is it will change over time and will quickly recover,” we read.
Unfortunately, this is not the end of the fight against cancer. Therefore, further help is necessary. Every gesture counts, every zloty donated for Mrs. Teresa’s treatment counts.
The doctor also found a second tumor, which is located very deep and cannot be removed surgically. An attempt to remove it would result in complete paralysis… Hope in chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which must take place in Gliwice as soon as possible
Mrs. Teresa has 6 children. Waiting for their beloved mother are 3.5-year-old Martynka, 5-year-old Maksio, 11-year-old Bartuś, 13-year-old Ola, 15-year-old Kacper and 23-year-old Mikołaj, a student living in Warsaw. She was diagnosed with glioma IV for the first time 6 years ago. Then, after undergoing a CT scan, she learned that a 6 cm diameter tumor was developing in her head. During the first surgery, it was completely removed.
They thought it was over. But the tumor came back
“I returned home and started to appreciate life again! Everything was fine, I felt great. I got pregnant, Maksio was born. I lived a normal life, I went for check-ups every three months. One of them showed a recurrence of the tumor in the same place! Doctor who operated on me the first time, and this time he helped – he removed the tumor, and I underwent radiotherapy – and chemotherapy,” we read in the description.
Then Mrs. Teresa believed that the nightmare was over. In 2018, the whole family closed the tragic chapter and enjoyed every moment spent together. Until February 2023, an MRI showed that there was another cancerous lesion in the cerebellum. I managed to remove it. In August, however, it turned out that another tumor had developed in the temporal lobe.
“I have a dream to have at least 5 more years of life”
As we wrote above, the fight is still ongoing. “I talk to children about death. I explain to them that a person – even a healthy person – can die unexpectedly. And when someone is sick, like me, they will probably pass away sooner. My daughters and sons give me strength. They say that everything will be fine, that it won’t happen anymore I defeated my opponent once, I’m stronger than him! – writes Mrs. Teresa.
I have a dream of having at least 5 more years of life. I will fight – that’s for sure. I believe it will work this time too. I will be grateful for any possible help. I am asking for your support… Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything!
Mrs. Teresa is one of the heroines of the book by Anna J. Dudek, a journalist of “Wysokie Obcasy” entitled “Disappearing. Reports about mothers”, published at the end of June 2023. The 41-year-old also suffers from post-traumatic epilepsy. In moving words, she told the reporter about how her children react to their mother’s illness.
