Monday morning and high noon in Poland are marked by the Sejm. At 12 p.m., the YouTube broadcast is the most popular live broadcast worldwide – over 260,000 people watch it. The phenomenon was also picked up at the Kinoteka cinema in Warsaw. Crowds of people came to the screenings organized there with popcorn.
Warsaw. Broadcast from the Sejm in Kinoteka
This is a completely new trend when it comes to broadcasting visual productions in cinemas. The Kinoteka cinema in Warsaw responded to new trends and organized a joint viewing of the broadcast of the Sejm session on Monday. This is not just any meeting, because on Monday there will be a vote of confidence in the government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
The event at Kinoteka sold out quickly – after the screenings were announced on Wednesday, there were no tickets available the same day. On Monday, crowds gathered in three rooms with popcorn in their hands to watch an unprecedented event on a large screen – the Sejm debate. Moreover, Monday’s screenings are not the only broadcasts from the Sejm scheduled in Kinoteka. Sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday are also scheduled in Kinoteka’s repertoire.
As we can read on social media, there is a truly festive atmosphere in the audience in three halls. Popcorn is a must-have for every viewer, the audience reacts eagerly to politicians’ speeches.
Sejmflix and chill, atmosphere like at the Nights of Advertisers – wrote Radek Teklak, journalist and author.
There is popcorn, there is laughter and comments that the president must have fallen asleep…
The cinema broadcast was the idea of Michał Marszał, the famous “admin of “Tygodnik NIE””. As you can see, it’s a 10-shot.
