Has it ever happened to you that you looked through every page, smelled the contents of all the bottles on the shelf and still couldn’t find the right fragrance note for yourself? Don’t worry, this problem affects many women. However, not everyone realizes that instead of buying store-bought aromatic liquids, you can make your own perfume at home. How?
What does it take to make perfume? Stock up on the right ingredients and take action
Before you start preparing unique, perfect dishes, you need to get the right ingredients and products. Omitting any of them may make your work much more difficult and the effect will not be what you expect. What will happen to you?
- Small funnel;
- coffee filter;
- Spray bottle;
- A bottle with an airtight lid, preferably made of dark glass;
- 2 tablespoons of oil, e.g. coconut or grapeseed,
- 5 tablespoons of alcohol, preferably vodka,
- 3 types of favorite essential oils – a total of 26 drops (in the proportion 7:14:5)
- Bottled water without gas – 2.5 tablespoons.
How to make perfume at home? Step by step guide
First, grab your glass bottle and your carrier oil of choice. Pour it into the bottle and add the essential oils in the correct order – base first, then middle, and finally top. Then add alcohol, close the lid and wait about 2 days. You can also extend the waiting time, which will make the perfume smell more intense. When you decide that waiting is enough, unscrew the bottle, add water from the bottle, close it and shake vigorously for several dozen seconds. Finally, pour the liquid into a spray bottle using a coffee filter and a funnel, and the perfume is ready.
