On Friday, December 8, a new cycle of challenges began Masterchef Celebrity Ecuador (Teleamazonas). This means that the participants took part in the mystery box test once today.
The 20 participants were grouped into pairs, selected at random. The secret ingredients were coconut, passion fruit, mangosteen, shrimp, peanuts, mamoncillo, oysters, crab, pistachios, eggs; any food that needs to be broken, peeled and opened to eat.
The winners of this test compete for the chef’s pin. For the first time, two couples were the winners and advanced to this stage: singer Daniel Beta with journalist Macarena Valarezo; and the actor José Pacheco with Luciana G.
The first duo surprised the judges with a dish consisting of a pepper filled with shrimp, pistachio, chili and lemon. The filling was spectacular, said Carolina Sánchez; while Jorge Rausch thought it was the best dish of the competition. Of course they both got the well-known clapping gesture.
The second pairing consisted of an oyster and shrimp ceviche, salted with lemon, coconut milk and ginger mayonnaise. They too were hit.
Other proposals that received positive reviews were those of singer Yilda Banchón and actor José Andrés Caballero, as well as the preparation of journalist Hellen Quiñónez and Paty Terán, and also that of actor Danilo Carrera and the couples coach Susi Hidalgo.
The judges tried all dishes, except those of actors Gigi Mieles and Andrés Crespo, and those of singer Nikki Mackliff and Raúl Santana, because they were not ready in time.
