It costs PLN 4 and works like a professional impregnation. Your shoes will no longer get wet in winter

Winter is a time when many people wonder what to do to keep their shoes from getting wet? Over time, wet shoes are only suitable for the trash, so it is worth taking proper care of them in good time. Home remedies are helpful.

Walking in wet shoes all day is not pleasant. Wet socks cause heat to escape much faster, which causes your feet to get cold. As a result, it is easy to catch a cold and get sick. That’s why it’s so important to know how to protect your shoes from getting wet.

What to do to prevent your shoes from getting wet? The home method will work like a professional impregnator

Sitting or walking all day long in damp socks is a recipe for the development of bacteria, fungi, mold, and an unpleasant odor. In frosty environments, moisture on socks can also draw heat away from the body through the feet, which can even lead to frostbite. It’s always worth having an extra pair of socks with you. There are also simple and cheap home remedies that will perfectly protect your shoes against moisture. They will work well if you don’t have a special impregnation at hand. Choose Vaseline, which costs approximately PLN 4 per package. Preferably without dyes and unnecessary additives. Vaseline will not only protect your shoes against moisture, but will also make them shine.

  1. Apply a small amount of Vaseline to your winter shoes.
  2. Apply the product especially carefully in places where there are seams and creases in the upper.
  3. Leave it all for a few hours and it’s ready.

How to dry wet shoes? Forget about placing them on the radiator

Drying your shoes on a radiator or by the fire is a terrible idea. Better avoid direct heat. The seemingly harmless act of quickly drying wet shoes in the dryer can also wreak havoc, as the glue can peel off and the seams can come apart. To gradually dry your shoes, first:

  1. remove excess moisture so that it does not have time to soak into the entire shoe.
  2. then roll the pages of newspaper or toilet paper into balls,
  3. fill the inside of the shoes to maintain the original shape of the shoe,
  4. change the paper regularly until the shoes are completely dry.
