It seemed impossible, but the empire of Mariah Carey has fallen this Christmas. After 30 years of being the queen of these holidays, another veteran has overtaken her on the right with another Christmas classic that has returned stronger than ever.

And Brenda Lee has reached number 1 on the United States hit list with her ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree‘, becoming the first Christmas carol of the year to achieve this. This year, the song celebrates its 65th anniversary and has done so with a new video clip.

The song was rescued from oblivion in 1990, when it appeared in the film ‘Home alone‘. In addition, it has broken another record, being the oldest song to reach number 1 on the hit list.

On the same list, we find other classics like ‘Last Christmas’ by Wham, with big names like Kylie Minogue, Cher and Robbie Williams who can’t resist doing their Christmas carol, a business that has earned Mariah Carey 60 million dollars with his ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You‘.

If you want to enjoy both songs and get into the Christmas spirit, we leave you these ‘hits’ below:
