All of Burgos’ revelations were posted on his X profile, but he deleted them a few hours later. But the damage was already done, after it appeared on Spanish portals.

Queen Letizia’s alleged infidelity in the British press

Now it’s the British media that have reported the information, including conservative newspapers like The Telegraph, says Clarín.

“Queen Letizia of Spain is alleged to have had an affair in the early years of her marriage to King Philip,” British media reported.

James Badcock, the Telegraph’s Madrid correspondent, wrote that “Jaime del Burgo, the Queen’s old friend and later her brother-in-law, claims to have had an affair with Queen Letizia during her marriage to King Felipe.”

The Telegraph also reports that speculation about the Queen of Spain’s alleged relationship with Del Burgo has emerged following the publication of a book interviewing the 53-year-old businessman about his relationship with the Queen.

In a book called “Letizia and I”, written by Jaime Peñafiel, a journalist specializing in royal families, several episodes from the life of the spouses were told, including an alleged romance with her former brother-in-law.

The same British paper noted that, despite the uproar caused by these revelations, “the Spanish royal house has refused to comment on Del Burgo’s claims.”

The reaction of Felipe and Letizia

For their part, the kings are keeping their official plan as if nothing happened. This Monday, December 4, they presided over the annual meeting of the board of directors of the Cervantes Institute at the Royal Palace of Aranjuez.

During their official engagement, neither the King nor Queen showed any sign of discomfort despite the controversy surrounding them.
