Landako already looks bewitched by the creation. Hundreds of literary and musical works challenge the concrete and the windows of the immense space, and we can already affirm that in this fantastic world, dictated only by the rules of the imagination (“Fantasia DA!” is the motto chosen for this edition), records and books grab headlines, culture is not (only) consumepoetry, comics or works of children’s literature are not threatened by the tyranny of narrative, original works in Basque coexist with translations into this language and film titles in Basque shine on cinema billboards.

Before the doors between fantasy and reality opened at the announced time, at 10:30 a.m., hundreds of people were already queuing to be able to walk before anyone else among the 257 stands, which offer 950 new products.

There are, in total, 689 books, 179 records or musical products, 44 magazines and 40 productions in other media. In addition, the Ahotsenea, Saguganbara, Kabi@, Talaia, Irudienea, Szenatokia and the Durango Museum spaces also present a suggestive program of activities.

On this first day, there were already lines in Ahotsenea for the early concert (11:00) of the group Nøgen, who presents in Durango ‘Åben Cirkel’, the third album in a career that moves between pop and folk.

The pace, in any case, has not slowed down throughout the day, and there have been many people from one side of Landako to the other, with a short break for food. They have not stopped signing their creations, among others, Karmele Jaio, IZARO, Patxi Zubizarreta, Kai Nakai, the members of Bulego, ZETAK… And there has not been a lack of audience, far from it, at the preview of the documentary “Gure Zirkua heldu da”, the presentation of Bernardo Atxaga’s latest book, “Paradisuaren kanpoko pueblok”, and the presentation of a magnifying glass that converts the words written in Basque into sounds, to mention some of the most notable events of the first day.

Fantasy, however, achieves its true value when it interacts with the real world, and surely this fantasy world and everything that lives in it will be more than valid elements to feed us and help us know better both ourselves and everything that exists in it. that surrounds us; That is what will make us move forward, beyond fantasies.
