A plane of low-cost airlines Rampa Airlines with Poles flying to the Greek islands of Nudos falls into turbulence and crashes into mysterious land. Tourists wandering in the fog are mistaken for illegal immigrants. Fleeing the army, wild animals and themselves, they end up in the mysterious Grand Musical Hotel located among the blocks of flats – a retro-futuristic resort of the future, the last refuge in the world for those seeking a break from politics, inflation and family, where you can travel to Tenerife, Majorca or Hawaii – without leaving town. During the metamorphosis week, patients discover that they are participants in a procreative reality show sponsored by the Institute of Demographics, and the hotel is a re-industry music theater, located in the most mysterious district of Warsaw – Targówek.
The story, full of twists and turns, is a flood of vicissitudes, dreams and ills of tragicomic eccentric characters. We will meet, among others: Darek Detoks, Dr. Sandra Chandra, Lex Developer, Deprotraperka Patolcia or Przebranżowiacz Reset, in which, like in a crooked mirror, today’s national and interpersonal crises are reflected. The creators of the “Grand Musical Hotel” want to disarm them with laughter, at the same time asking about the role of entertainment in the modern world. Where to find respite from anxiety, fears, frustration? As Michał Walczak argues – at the Rampa Theater, in Targówek, just 12 minutes by metro from the Center.
– As a new director, together with the Rampy team, I would like to create a theatrical island of breath, reflection and fun in a stressed world. An island of imagination, where we will gain some distance. In this spirit, we proposed “TEACHING REST” in October, and now we are opening the premiere of “Grand Musical Hotel”. Be our guests!
