A dispute over copyright ended with the loss of Telewizja Polska

After the verdict, journalists from Wirtualna Polska asked Bartosz Sadowski to comment on the entire incident. It turned out that the photographer tried to reach an amicable agreement with Telewizja Polska, but the station offered him too low a rate for the photo used. “We submitted a request to TVP for an apology, payment for the publication and for the losses. Mainly because TVP has become a propaganda mouthpiece that has nothing to do with journalism… They offered to pay us some pennies, because that’s how much they usually pay for photos. The process was a natural consequence,” he said in an interview for Wirtualna Polska.

The photographer’s account also shows that Telewizja Polska did not agree to a public apology. “After the judgment became final, the TVP legal department contacted my lawyer and informed him that they would not publish the apology,” we read. The case was resolved only by an application submitted to the court. “I’m glad that “this” television apologized for this. And not the television, which – let’s hope – will soon become public again,” Sadowski concluded.
