The funeral ceremony for 14-year-old Natalia from Andrychów, who died last week, is scheduled for December 5. Let us recall that the teenager died on the street near the advertising board of one of the stores in Andrychów, where passers-by passed her. She lay semi-conscious in the cold in the city center for several hours.
TVN24 decided to broadcast the funeral of 14-year-old Natalia on a paid service. “With the consent of the family”
On the day of the funeral, TVN24 informed via the X portal that from 1:00 p.m. on TVN24 GO it will be possible to watch the broadcast of the funeral of 14-year-old Natalia. This news led many people to condemn the broadcaster’s decision. Among them is, for example, WP journalist Patryk Słowik, who openly started mocking the planned broadcast of the teenager’s funeral.
Patryk Chilewicz, the creator of the Vogule Poland website, spoke in a similar tone. – I hope there will be an interview with the deceased and an SMS lottery with coffins to win! – he ironized. This information was also shared by Left politicians Anna Maria Żukowska and Katarzyna Kotula, who commented on the entry and asked why it was decided to broadcast it.
After an avalanche of negative comments, the station reacted and published a new entry on the X portal, in which they informed about covering the ceremony with the consent of the family. At that time, the portal tried to contact the broadcaster to provide an appropriate comment, but so far no one from Warner Bros. Discovery has not contacted the newsroom.
This information, however, did not make people look more favorably at reporting events on the paid TVN24 GO service. “Incredible lack of intuition… Would you also do live executions? Or maybe childbirth?” – reads one of the comments under the entry. Psychiatrist Maja Herman also decided to express her opinion and wrote directly what was wrong with broadcasting this event:
Don’t broadcast. This is not okay. Even if they gave their consent. Take into account that they are in an adaptive response. In a few weeks they may see it completely differently… – commented the doctor.

Just before 2:00 p.m., the TVN24 editorial team issued the expected statement explaining its decision. It also apologized for the entry announcing the coverage of the funeral of 14-year-old Natalia.
“From the beginning, as the editorial team, we have been deeply moved by Natalia’s story. We reported it extensively on our TV and on the website, remaining in constant contact with the family. In consultation with her, we also decided to cover the funeral ceremonies. Behind these decisions is our common concern for “so that Natalia’s story will never be repeated. So that – shocked by this tragedy – we will be able to respond systematically and humanly to the harm of another person in the future. The announcement announcing the broadcast of the funeral was unfortunate, for which we apologize,” we read.
