Thousands of people gathered this Sunday to say goodbye to the artist Concha Velasco in the city of her birth, Valladolid. The actress died this Saturday at the age of 84 in Madridbut she will be buried in the Valladolid capital.

On this Sunday morning, the funeral procession began its journey around 11:15 am, and passed through the Military Hospital, Paseo Zorrilla, San Ildefonso, Isabel la Católica, San Pablo and Calle de las Angustias. At 12:00 p.m. the funeral procession arrived at the Calderón Theater where, escorted by eight municipal police motorcycles, the attendees received Concha Velasco. with a long and emotional ovation.

Moments later, the mayor of the capital of Pisuerga, Jesús Julio Carnero, and the first deputy mayor, Irene Carvajal, announced the hearse a funeral wreath which reads ‘Teatro Calderón’ and a bouquet of white roses where it says “Concha Velasco, Valladolid will never forget you.” The few silences that have occurred during the tribute have been broken with applause from the spectators and shouts of ‘Long live Concha Velasco!’.

After the mass, Concha Velasco’s funeral procession will tour the Plaza de la Universidad, López Gómez, Plaza España, Miguel Íscar, Zorrilla, San Ildefonso, Isabel la Católica, San Quirce, Cardenal Torquemada, Santa Teresa, Gondomar, Chancillería, Madre de God and Cemetery Street. After, She will be buried in the Pantheon of Illustrious Personages in the El Carmen Cemetery in the Valladolid capital.
