Actor Chris Hemsworth is from Australia, and his wife Elsa Pataky is from Spain. The couple started dating in early 2010, and in December of the same year they got married.

Since then, their love story has lasted 14 years and the same number of Christmases together, adapting to the traditions that the Spanish woman is used to.

For some time they lived in Los Angeles in the United States of America, where their three children India and twins Sasha and Tristan were born, and then they moved to the Australian city of Byron Bay, although they have been living in Sydney since 2021.

Whenever she can, Elsa Pataky returns to Spain for vacation or work, or to receive an award like the one she received at the 2023 Women’s Awards, as reported by La Razón.

Just in an interview for a magazine Madame Figaro’s wife on the occasion of the award, she recalled how much she misses Christmas time in her native Spain and some of the customs she spent in her home with Chris Hemsworth whom he infects with his spirit during the holidays since in Australia Christmas coincides with summer.

“We make it special. “I order clothes for Christmas Eve and Christmas, you have to get ready, a bathing suit is not valid, and I set the table nicely,” commented the 47-year-old actress, since there is “not much tradition” where she lives, because people prefer to go to the beach and barbecue.

When asked what should not be missing from the Christmas table, Elsa Pataky mentioned “flowers, apart from food, of course”. And a tradition that is not left aside is eating grapes.

Despite her deep roots and bringing the Spanish Christmas tradition into her home, she has no plans to return to her country, citing that she feels more connected to the natural environment in which she and her family find themselves.

“It’s difficult, it would be a very radical change for them (their children), and I’m more connected to the ocean, the sea, that way of life,” he added. (AND)
