In third place on the list was “Lady Chatterley’s Lover” from 2022. It is a story about a married aristocrat played by Emma Corrin, known for her role as Diana in “The Crown”. The heroine starts an affair with her gamekeeper (Jack O’Connell). The story is an adaptation of the novel of the same title by David Herbert Lawrence.
A ranking of the best adult films on Netflix has been created
Second place in the ranking was taken by this year’s romantic comedy “Happy Finale” directed by Joosje Duk. The film is about a couple trying to improve the quality of their sex life. Luna (Gaite Jansen) is fed up with faking orgasms, but she can’t talk about it honestly with her beloved Mink (Martijn Lakemeier). Instead of trying to communicate his needs, he suggests a threesome.
In first place on The Cut’s list is Diego Freitas’ film from 2023. The Brazilian thriller “Betrayal is not a problem” is another adaptation of the novel, this time by Sue Hecker. The film tells the story of accountant Babi, who finds out during her hen party that her fiancĂ© is cheating on her. This is an impulse for changes for the well-behaved Babi. The woman dyes her hair, buys a motorcycle and gains the courage to live the exciting life she has always dreamed of.
“This movie is garbage with erotic scenes.” Critics have no mercy for the Brazilian thriller
The production available on received as much as 94 percent freshness in audience ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics were slightly less favorable to the film. John Serba from Decider advises against the screening. He claims that the film is very erotic, but extremely unexciting and simply boring. “It’s the kind of thriller that is just an excuse to introduce absurdly over-stylized sex scenes featuring people who exercise more than anyone you’ve ever met in your life,” the journalist writes in his review.
“This film is garbage with erotic scenes. I think Netflix should introduce a new category for such films,” Serba sums up sharply and compares the production to “50 Shades of Gray” and “365 Days”. He emphasizes, however, that in “Betrayal is not a problem” we will not find as many toxic threads as in the above-mentioned titles. “As for the plot, it is as bland as the thousandth episode of a Brazilian soap opera. There is not a single original idea here. Only colorless characters and trivial situations,” writes Decider’s critic.
Barbara Shulgasser-Parker of commonsensemedia.org rated the film only one star. The reviewer writes that the entire plot of the production is based on ridiculous assumptions. If we are unable to accept them, the session has no point.
