The prequel “Mad Max: Fury Road” directed by George Miller will appear in Polish cinemas on May 24, 2024. The main characters in “Furiosa” are Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, who are difficult to recognize in the dystopian world covered with dust and sand.

The first film in the saga was released almost 45 years ago. “Mad Max” with Mel Gibson premiered in 1979, three years later “Mad Max 2” was released, and the trilogy was concluded with “Mad Max Under Thunderdome” in 1985. After 30 years, a refreshed version of “Mad Max: Fury Road” appeared in cinemas. The film with Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult gained enormous popularity, great reviews and six Oscars.
After almost 10 years after the premiere of the previous “Mad Max”, George Miller returns with a prequel to the last production. “Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga” will tell the story of a well-known heroine played by Charlize Theron. On the screen we will see the story of young Furiosa, played by Anya Taylor-Joy.
“45 years after the fall, young Furiosa is kidnapped. She will spend the rest of her life looking for a way home,” the trailer announces.
When the world falls, young Furiosa is kidnapped from the Green Place of Many Mothers. He falls into the hands of the powerful Biker Horde, led by the warlord Dementus. After crossing the Wasteland, the kidnappers reach the Citadel, where Eternal Joe rules. Two tyrants begin to fight for power, and Furiosa must survive many trials while gathering the resources that will allow her to return home.
The role of Dementus will be played by Chris Hemsworth, who is difficult to recognize on screen. The task is made more difficult by the make-up and the completely different tone and timbre of the actor’s voice to which Thor’s fans are accustomed. In addition to Taylor-Joy and Hemsworth in the title role, the film also stars Alyla Browne and Tom Burke. George Miller wrote the script with Mad Max: Fury Road co-writer Nico Lathouris.
