Arcade Fire, Jungle, Massive Attack, The Prodigy, Underworld, Khruangbin and Parcels are the first artists confirmed for the 2024 edition of Bilbao BBK Live, along with Alvvays, Ezra Collective, Mulatu Astatke, El Columpio Asesino, Los Bitchos, Folamour AV, Sen Senra, Death from Above 1979, Overmono live, JPEGMAFIA, Noname, Zea Mays and Ralphie Choo, as announced this Tuesday by the Bilbao City Council.

Bilbao BBK Live has revealed this Tuesday the first clues of its poster for the 2024 edition, which will be held on June 11, 12 and 13 in Kobetamendi.

As highlighted by the Bilbao City Council, the festival is “rich in biodiversity and will host contemporary music leaders, intergenerational artists, emerging voices, experimental projects and comebacks longed fors”.

The “most contemporary” Canadian indie band, Arcade Fire, will resume its “apotheosis live” after the success at the Cala Mijas and MEO Kalorama festivals last September and Jungle will put on “a funk party surrounded by native vegetation”, the City Council has announced, adding that, from Bristol, there will be no shortage of creators of the trip hop Mass Attacknor the “masters and creators of great electronic anthems of the 2000s”, The Prodigy and Underworld.

The Texan Trio Khruangbina plane in Thai, will give attendees “the most lysergic trip of their life” and the Australian Parcels “will dissipate the boundaries between indie and electronic”, the Bilbao City Council has pointed out.

In addition, they have advanced that the “talent” of the United Kingdom will be represented in this first cut, since “the new promise of Anglo-Saxon musicto Overmono live and Folamour in AV format will be the standard bearers of the electronic eclecticity of the poster, to which are added “The Bitchos with his cumbia from the 70s and 80s, the mellowness of London-based New Zealander Jordan Rakei, the UK Jazz quintet Ezra Collective, mixing soul, hip-hop, calypso and afrobeat, as well as the infinite musical library of Floating Points in live version”.

Furthermore, he announced, “the multifaceted JPEGMAFIA and their provocative avant-garde rap, the catchy melodies of Alvvays and the creative rapper from Chicago, Noname, will set foot on Basque soil for the first time.”

Other confirmed artists are Mulatu Astatke, also known as the father of Ethio-jazz, who will represent the first lines of world music directly from Kobetamendi. Following the same musical thread will be Cymande, a band founded in the 70s by several musicians from Jamaica and French Guiana, very infrequent at giving concerts but Bilbao BBK Live being the exception, as is Death from Above 1979, “intermittent but always faithful to their essence, they will present their hard-rock at the festival”.

Added to the confirmed list is the farewell tour of The Killer Swing, Ralphie Choo, Jimena Amarillothe Catalan Queralt Lahoz, Sen Senra with their bedroom pop, the kinkidelia of Derby Motoreta’s Burrito Kachimba, and the punk metal of Nerve Agent, with local artists such as Zea Mays, Shinova and Airu.

From this Wednesday, November 29 until December 1, you can access the pre-sale at a special price at the festival website and on Fever Up. General sale will begin on December 1 at 10:01 a.m.with the possibility of payment in installments and camping.
