Spotify Wrapped 2023 is here! Polish music is still very strong, but there are small glimpses of it

Every Spotify user can now check their music summary for 2023. In addition, each subscriber can check how many minutes he spent listening to specific music, which song he listened to most often and who his favorite artist is. Additionally, every year Spotify introduces new features that make each listener’s Wrapped even more interesting and unique.

New this year is the “Me in 2023” option, which allows you to find out which of the 12 musical personalities you are based on your playback history. The next addition is Sound Town. Based on the data, Spotify will match us to the city whose inhabitants have the most consistent musical taste with ours.

As usual, the streaming giant also published the Spotify Wrapped ranking, which selected the most frequently played songs, most popular artists and podcasts of 2023 among the website’s users. The passing year will be remembered as another year in which Polish music triumphed, but global artists also made it to the top in this year’s rankings.

Spotify Wrapped 2023 in Poland. Which song have we listened to the most this year?

Last year’s Top 10 most frequently listened to songs in Poland included only one foreign artist, Harry Styles, and he was in last, tenth place. This year is different because the podium opens Miley Cyrus with a piece ofFlowers“, which was an international hit at the beginning of the year and caused quite a stir due to the references in the text to the artist’s marriage to Liam Hemsworth.

Second place goes to the song “5 INFLUENCERS” A 23-year-old rapper with the nickname Zeamsone, who certainly didn’t expect his holiday hit to be so popular. In the song, he talks about fragile relationships, popularity on social media and a hedonistic attitude to life with which many young people can or would like to identify. However, musically it refers here to last year’s hit by David Guetta and Bebe Rexha “I’m Good (Blue)”, which is a new version of the hit by Eiffel 65.

The song that took first place was “Taxi” by the rapper Kizo. This is another so-called a summer song in the Polish version, which, unlike the song in second place, went viral on the Internet and was also played on radio stations. The popularity of the song cannot be denied, but the first place may certainly be surprising, because it is not a piece that could be called a universal hit.

We can see even more about the great popularity of Polish music by looking at the list of the ten most frequently streamed artists. It is opened by Taco Hemingway, who returned this year with a new album like a phoenix from the ashes. Behind him were last year’s winner White 2115 and Kukon – second and third respectively. Interestingly, we will find only three pop artists here, including one foreign: Sanah, Dawid Podsiadło and The Weeknd.

The list of the most frequently listened to artists in Poland looks a bit more diverse. There are only two rappers on the list: Young Leosia and her protégé – bambi. The remaining places belong to pop stars, headed by Sanah. Right behind her are Taylor Swift, who is currently taking part in one of the biggest concert tours in history, and Lana Del Rey, whose high place may be surprising because she has not released any hits recently.

However, when we look at the list of the most frequently listened to albums, the thesis is confirmed that native music, especially rap, dominates in the country on the Vistula River. In addition, the most frequently streamed albums are collective projects – “RODZINNY BIZNES” 2115 and “club 2020” club 2020. Taco Hemingway, involved in club 2020, was also in third place in this ranking, with another solo album titled “1-800-OŚWIECENIE” . In terms of pop, we can only find Dawid Podsiadło in fifth place.
